- How to bookmark ImmerseMe on the Oculus/Meta Quest browser
Instructions
- Turn on your Oculus/Meta Quest.
Press and hold the power button until a light appears. You'll know this has worked once you can see the Meta logo through the headset. Once the device has powered up, you'll be taken to the home screen.
If the home screen doesn't appear, press on your right controller. - Open a browser.
From the home screen or landing page, select the Meta Quest Browser app in the universal menu (if already pinned).
If it's not yet pinned, look for Apps in the universal menu then launch Browser. This will open the default browser which best supports ImmerseMe. - Navigate to ImmerseMe's home page.
Enter immerseme.com in the address bar using the pop-up keyboard.
Once you're in the ImmerseMe home page, select LOGIN on the top right. - Log in to ImmerseMe.
Enter your username and password to log in to ImmerseMe. - Select language.
Your ImmerseMe Student Zone home page will show you all available languages. Select the one that you'd like to learn. - Select the lesson.
From the hundreds of available lessons, select one that jumps out at you, and the website will take you to the lesson script page. - Start the lesson.
From here you'd be able to view the Lesson Script, and when you're ready to begin, select Start Lesson. - Select the lesson settings.
Choose your preferred lesson Mode, Extension and Target Accuracy, then select Play! - Allow microphone access.
If this is your first time using ImmerseMe on your device, the browser will request access to your microphone. Make sure to select Allow, otherwise our tool won't be able to hear you. Hit the play button to start the lesson. - Go to VR mode.
Once inside the lesson, select the VR mode icon at the bottom of the right menu panel to enter into an immersive experience. - Allow WebXR access.
To allow the browser access to gyroscope, accelerometer, and other hardware in the Meta (Oculus) Quest, select Allow to enter the WebXR session and open an immersive experience. - Enjoy language learning in VR!
You will now be in a virtual reality environment in conversation with an authentic native speaker!
