- Set up your HTC Vive.
The first step to using ImmerseMe on the HTC Vive or Vive Pro is to set up the device to your PC, here are some setup pages to help with the setup:

Once the PC can recognize the device and Steam VR is running. Install Mozilla Firefox on your PC as this is the browser with the best support for the plugins we use.
Here is a download link to Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
-
Navigate to our home page.
Once Firefox is downloaded and installed you are ready to experience ImmerseMe in VR! Using your PC controls load up www.immerseme.co in the Firefox browser and wait for the webpage to load.
This is our homepage where you can find all you would ever need to know about ImmerseMe!
-
Log in to your ImmerseMe account.
Select 'Log in' at the top right to navigate to the login page, from here enter your details to log in to your ImmerseMe account.
-
Use your Vive with ImmerseMe.
To use ImmerseMe with the HTC Vive, it is important to only use one controller as our current framework cannot distinguish between two separate controllers. For the system to work well in VR mode it is essential you disconnect one of the handheld controllers and continue with just your dominant hand connected. To view the website in VR, first push the System Button located at the bottom of the controller.
This will bring up a menu that looks similar to the one below. Using this menu select the ‘Desktop View’ button and you will be taken to a direct view of what is seen on your desktop. From here navigate to the Firefox tab and you will be good to go!
-
Select preferred language, lesson and mode.
Now you can control your desktop with the HTC Vive controls, find the language, lesson and mode you would like to experience. Enter the lesson as you normally would on a desktop.
Once inside the lesson you should see the VR mode button is no longer opaque. This means that your headset has been registered by the browser and VR mode is available. This can be seen in the image below:
-
Enter VR mode.
To enter VR mode, select this button and you should see the view change immediately to a split view showing what both eyes are seeing as shown below:
-
Hide desktop UI and enjoy!
If this has all loaded correctly, select the System Button again on your controller to hide the system menu and enjoy the experience!
