After you have logged in, choose a target language, in our example we'll use French...
You can use these filters along the top to change the layout of lessons displayed...
The 'All Lessons' filter will be available if your teacher has requested a custom layout for your school (could be either a textbook layout or school-specific unit plan). In this example we can choose to display the units from a French textbook called 'Tapis Volant 1, 4th Edition'...
Selecting 'Tapis Volant 1, 4th Edition' will rearrange the layout of lessons within ImmerseMe to suit that particular textbook's table of contents. Keep in mind, this is ImmerseMe's bespoke interactive lessons simply rearranged to follow the same layout of topics as the book and not the exact textbook sentences/vocab, although we anticipate a high % crossover. Our lessons will often be more comprehensive than a specific textbook example.
The 'Subjects' filter allows you to easily scroll through the list of subject headers available (alphabetical order)...
The 'All', 'Beginner', 'Intermediate' and 'Advanced' filters let you display lessons specific to that level. The numbers displayed in brackets, e.g. 'Beginner (151)', tell you how many lessons we have at that level for that language. Note: some topics may not have any lessons at a particular level so don't be surprised if they 'disappear' from view, you can get them back by clicking on 'All' again...
When you are ready to start learning, choose a lesson from the title on the right-hand side of the screen, in our example we've selected Bakery > Buy a loaf of bread...
You will then see a preview of the conversation in French (which you can toggle into English by pressing the 'English' button pictured to the right of 'Français'). There are currently 4 possible 'Lesson Modes' (Pronunciation, Typing, Translation and Immersion) available for this lesson with some 'Key Vocabulary' and 'Key Grammar' down the bottom right.
You can click the 'Lesson Sheet' button to export a PDF of this conversation including the English translations, key vocabulary and key grammar...
When you are familiar with the script and ready to get started select a Lesson Mode. We recommend always starting with 'Pronunciation' and moving down through Typing > Translation > Immersion based on the difficulty of each mode but we'll delve into more detail of each mode from the links below:
