Please refer to How do I use 'Pronunciation' mode? for a summary of menu icons available within ImmerseMe.
Click the Translation button from the lesson script page, for our example we're in French > Bakery > Buying a loaf of bread (Acheter du pain)...
Once the native speaker has finished talking, a prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen which is displaying the required response in English (or Mandarin Chinese when learning English as a target language) that you now need to TRANSLATE into the target language. Remember, this is the exact same conversation which is displayed on the lesson page (above) but now you need to produce the target language sentence yourself, using the prompt as a guide. In our example, we can see "Hello, I would like a loaf of bread please." but ImmerseMe is expecting me to say (out loud) "Bonjour, je voudrais du pain s'il vous plaît."
PLEASE NOTE: We have recently (March 2020) added up to half a dozen alternatives to EVERY sentence within ImmerseMe that are currently being uploaded and will be visible within the lesson script page and Punctuation mode. For the moment, you'll need to produce the exact sentence that is displayed on the lesson page.
Once you have correctly recorded your sentence then the lesson will continue as normal and you will need to continue translating each sentence of the conversation...
Once you have completed the lesson in Translation mode then you are well on your way to a higher tier of language learning status -- fluency. Now there's just one more mountain to climb and that's... Immersion mode (dun dun dunnnn 🎶) or feel free to go back and revise 'Pronunciation' or 'Typing' mode using the direct links below:
